Meetings are the 1st & 3rd Monday each month at the Ballina Bowling Club.

Socially we hold informal dinners, go to the movies, ten pin bowling and coffee mornings.  On Australia Day we hand out Billy Tea and home cooked damper.  During SCOPE Month in October we choose a worthy recipient for our SCOPE Award from the many local voluntary workers.

Ballina SCOPE have supported, Legacy, the State Emergency Service, NSW Ambulance, the District Hospital, our local Dementia Care Service, Biala Special School ( Children with disabilities), Diabetes Australia, NSW Cancer Council, Ballina Early Intervention, Royal Flying Doctors Service

Fund raising activities have included Movie Premier evenings, street stalls, Mile of Coins, Death by Chocolate, Charity Auctions, Champagne Breakfasts, Christmas Dinner in July, various Book launches, Humble Pie drives, Pasta and Casserole evenings.

MEETINGS
The Wynnum Branch of the Scope Club meet on the second and fourth Monday evenings each month at a local venue at 7.30 p.m.
The second Monday is a business meeting and the fourth Monday is at member's homes with guest speakers.

MEMBERSHIP
Our members are of mixed age groups and occupations who support the community by raising funds. Donations are given to local charities as well as a National Charity which is currently The Mater Cord Blood Bank.
We have in the past also supported Blue Care, Qld Cancer Fund, Domestic Violence Services among many others.

AUSTRALIA DAY - 2006 - 2007
We also each year present an Australia Day Award in recognition of services to the public.

The aim of The Scope Club is support our community while making friends and having fun at our numerous social activities.

Wynnum Australia Day awardee 2007

Mr Willoby Vincent Wharton [Bill] with his daughter Sandra Davis.

Bill is 88 years old. He spent 44 months as a prisoner of war in CHANGI PRISONER-OF-WAR CAMP on Singapore Island after the capitulation of the Allied troops on 15th February, 1942. Since then Bill has done volunteer work over a period of 40 years and more for the Moreton Bay Nursing Home, Redlands Museum, Local schools &
Wood turning.

The Aust Day Award was presented for his volunteer work over & above normal duties

Meetings are on the 1st and 3rd Thursday each month at the Allora Blue Care Centre, at 7:30pm

Allora SCOPE Club has made donations to the Queensland Blood Bank, St Vincent De Paul, Allora State School, Allora Action Association, Allora Clifton Blue Nursing, Allora Girl Guides, Shaftsbury Centre, Allora Red Cross and Allora Show Society

Our activities include a Death by Chocolate afternoon, Street Stalls, Mothers Day Raffle, Meals on Wheels, Reading at the Nursing Home, assisting with Apex Charity Auctions, entertaining and providing afternoon tea at the Aged Persons Home.  We also help with the National Heart Foundation door knock.

Allora members have supplied, installed and serviced "Trouble lights" free of charge to home bound people.
