SCOPE QUIET ACHIEVER'S AWARD - Each year the Scope Club of Ballina presents this award to a worthy recipient of outstanding voluntary service and who has committed a lot of time and effort to their community. However, sometimes these people go unnoticed. This award is presented during October - Scope Month.

Quiet Achieviers' Award & cheque presentation

Our Quiet Achiever's Award night was held on the 20th October, 2008. This year's recipient of our Award was the Sisters of Mercy, Sisters Larelle & Grace Laverty of the Parish of Wardell, a small village just south of Ballina. Sisters Larelle & Grace are very deserving of our Award for their tireless work, with homeless children in the past and currently for their continued work in the Parish. They undertake this work just simply from their own funds and donations from the public. We donate funds each year to the Sisters of Mercy. Along with the Award we presented them with a cheque for $300.00. - Approximately 50 people attended on the night, including the Mayor of Ballina Mr. Phil Silver, our Patron Mrs. Morag Page, Ballina Shire Councillor, Sharon Cadwallader, parishioners, friends of the Sisters and Father John Kelly. We provided finger food, punch, tea coffee and a congratulatory cake. The evening was a tremendous success enjoyed by all.

SCOPE BURSARY - Each year the Scope Club of Ballina provides a Scope Bursary to a year 10 female student to further her studies in Yrs 11 & 12. The school is chosen by a draw and the recipient of this bursary is chosen by their school for their community work.

We welcome all interested ladies to our monthly meetings to learn what Scope is all about, to have fun and make new friends.

Our club motto is "WE CARE"
